Retired Asian SU! set used

Although these projects were done with a retired Stampin'Up! set, I just had to post it to show you. I have been perusing my files and came upon these photos. One is a checkbook cover and one is a sachet that was made out of an envelope.

Happy Birthday, Ashley!!!

Hello there! My blog is a day late in posting, but I didn't want Ashley to see her Birthday card before receiving it. Sooo, Ashley, I called your cell and left a singing "Happy Birthday to You" message and am now featuring you on my blog! To my Goddaughter, Ashley...here's hoping your birthday was the best ever!!! I love ya lots! I sure hope you are staying warm in that New Yawk weather. I also hope you had an extra piece of birthday cake in my honor. Below is a picture of Ashley rubberstamping in my stamp room and also posted is a picture of the birthday card I made her. The stamp image is from Eat Cake Graphics and the saying inside is from Victorine Originals.

Here is Ashley's Birthday card:

The inside saying is:
It's your birthday,
I made you a cake!
Couldn't resist,
A bite I did take.
It was uneven,
Alittle more I ate,
And now you have
A birthday plate!

A new year of stamping

Hmm, sitting here at my computer checking out emails, visiting blogs, reading my yahoo groups' emails and contemplating my own stamping schedule. So much inspiration for stamping cards and gifts. Spent half my morning downloading templates and cutting out cool pictures from magazines getting ready to work on my projects at hand. I just finished 2 cards last night for a Snobby StuckUp Stampers group on Yahoo. One was a mystery swap where all the contents to making a card are sent to each participant then they use whatever they want out of the package, make a card and then send to their partner. All the backgrounds are made using the same technique but made in different colors and each participant receives the same image stamped out several times in their packet, but each participant receives a different image than the other participants. Plus embellishments are included. Here is the card I made for my partner:

This card is another card for the same partner but for the Mosaic Swap

January 4th- Are you ready for Valentine's Day?

Geeesh! Give me a break! I am trying to recuperate from Christmas and New Year's. I cannot believe retailers and stampers are already concentrating on Valentine's Day. Now, don't get me wrong, I love flowers, chocolates and being in love and all the other mushy gushy stuff that goes with it, however,I still need to take down my Christmas tree. Yes, Ashley, I put a tree up after all! Gotta put my snow people away for next year and all my teddy bear tree ornaments too. I just can't think about Valentine's Day right now. I am trying to catch my breath and reprogram my brain for the start of this new year. So, if I receive a call from Cupid for being a Valentine bah-humbugger, I apologize. I actually got my Christmas cards out in time...so please don't wait for a Valentine's Card from me as you may be waiting a looooong time, but hey, with me ya never know. LOL!
Have a great week!

WooooHoooo Happy New Year!

WOW! Can you believe it is already 2009? I remember ringing in the new Millenium...2000...omigosh...has it been 9 years already? Whew, time flies when you are having fun! I wish someone told me I was having fun. I kinda thought it was just the process of getting older. So much has happened in the last 9 years...some good, some not so good...but that is what the life process is all about. Made new friends, misplaced old ones...I guess it is all about new beginnings. It's not over until it is over. I wish all my friends, new, old and those to come, a wonderful, healthy and prosperous 2009. May your inkpad never run dry...may your paper supply be abundant...and may you have enough stamping supplies to rule the world!
Wishing you the best year ever. May you love and be loved!
Happy New Year,
Marianne
